Available Birds
Sammie (ADOPTION PENDING)
Sammie is the life of the party and thinks that she should be involved in everything you do. She is food motivated (like… very), so snacks are the easiest way to win her over.
She loves being around people, thrives on activity, and will always choose the spot where the action is. She will step up for her foster mom and enjoys eating her dinner perched on an arm.
Sammie is social, and she’ll greet you with “hello” or remind you she’s a “pretty bird.”
Sammie was recently diagnosed with Avian Ganglioneuritis (AG) which is a life-long condition that can be managed via diet and a low-stress environment. When she has flare-ups, her symptoms can be improved by either weekly injections or daily oral medication.
36 year old DNA sexed female Greenwing Macaw
Adoption Fee for Sammie: $400
Darlin’ (ADOPTION PENDING)
Darlin’ has been coming out of his shell thanks to his foster home, and he will now step up and accept scritches.
Darlin’ has a sweet tooth, and he knows exactly how to work the system to get a piece of fruit (his favorite prize). While he may take time and patience to build trust initially, once he’s comfortable, his personality really shines.
He will chime in with a sweet “hello” and “pretty bird” occasionally, but only when he feels like it.
26 year old DNA sexed male Blue & Gold Macaw
Adoption Fee for Darlin’: $900
Pochy
This sweet old lady is ready to retire in comfort and luxury. Pochy is extremely sweet and handleable. She will step up, loves riding around on shoulders, and she is always ready for some scritches.
Pochy would do best with a family that is home the majority of the day and can integrate her into every part of their lives. She loves being with her people, and she is a friend to everyone she meets.
She will greet you with a “Hello” and keep that up until she has had her fill of attention, and she is happy to take a snack from anyone and everyone.
Pochy comes with a catch though! She has been living in a WALK-IN AVIARY for the last 6 years, and we don’t want to take it away from her.
Her forever family will need to provide her with an indoor aviary that is 4 ft x 4 ft.
If you have the space for her palace and the time for her majesty, Pochy could be the princess for you.
42 year old Blue and Gold Macaw
Adoption Fee for Pochy: $600
Pochy’s current aviary (including perching) can be purchased from the rescue for an additional $1500, or you can purchase a separate aviary.
Sunny (ADOPTION PENDING)
If you have ever seen a cuddly bird online and thought “That’s what I want!” then Sunny is the bird for you!
He is a sweet, affectionate little guy with a huge personality who has been lovingly flight recall trained by his previous owner. He loves to fly around the house even though his tail feathers are often raggedy from rubbing against his cage bars.
Sunny thrives on attention and would do best with a family that can spoil him all day like he deserves. While he gets along well with other birds, he would love to be the center of your universe.
4 year old DNA sexed Black Capped Conure
Adoption fee for Sunny: $450
Coco and Puff
Coco (blue) and Puff (green) are the very best of friends, and they would love to find a home together.
They came from an original owner who never handled them and likely intended to breed them alongside multiple other species. For years, Coco and Puff only had each other and would hide in the back of their cage far away from people.
Since they started hand-taming training in March 2026 with their foster home, they have learned how to be birds again and now spend their days flying around the house, foraging, and getting into trouble (often at the verrrry top of the vaulted ceiling on the light fixture).
While they are still warming up to people, they will now eat dinner on their foster mom’s lap and take treats from her fingers.
If you have the patience to go at their pace and love them as a package deal, Coco and Puff can add so much warmth and activity to your home.
5-10 year old Quaker Parrots, not DNA sexed
Adoption Fee for Coco and Puff as a pair: $150
Coco and Puff must go to a home together
Little Guy
Little Guy is a beautiful, gentle Moluccan Cockatoo with plenty to give. He loves scritches and would happily spend all day with you hanging out around the house being showered with love and attention.
Even though Moluccan Cockatoos can be LOUD, Little Guy only screams when he wants to get his point across or when he feels like he hasn’t had enough attention.
Like all cockatoos, he is high-needs emotionally and very expressive. He will cuddle all day and let you know when he doesn’t like what you’re doing by screaming, avoiding, or even using his beak. Reading body language is always important for cockatoo owners.
Little Guy is still working on stepping up reliably because he was not regularly trained at his previous home. With patience and consistency, he will come to trust putting his weigh on your hand.
At the moment, when he does step up, he holds on with a vice grip because he is anxious about being dropped.
Little Guy will do best with a family that works from home or has a flexible schedule because he loves to be with his people. If that sounds like you, and you don’t mind an occasional scream if it comes with a cuddle bug, Little Guy could be YOUR little guy.
20 year old Moluccan Cockatoo
Adoption Fee for Little Guy: $1800
SUCCESS STORIES
Scooter, male Eclectus
Scooter took some time to warm up at his foster home, but once he was comfortable, he really surprised everyone. The bird that spent most of his time quietly hanging out by the window, attended one of our warehouse free flight events and flew for the very first time after watching some of the other birds!
Since then, his confidence has grown so much. He now flies around his forever family’s home and has even inspired the love birds in the house to engage more. It is amazing to see how far he has come and how much he has grown since being adopted through Ohio Free Flight.
Willie, male Goffin’s Cockatoo
Willie is an exceptionally easy-going, cuddly bird, and he was just what his forever family was looking for. After losing their beloved parrot, the family was searching for a new feathered friend to shower with attention, and they immediately fell in love with Willie. We could tell from the first meeting that they were perfect for each other.
Now that he is their main squeeze, he spends his days meeting new people, enjoying car rides, and snuggling on the couch. We couldn’t be happier for both Willie and his forever family!
